@stevekafka3 years ago Ed was a dear friend , I was the auctioneer for the Rat Fink Reunion for eleven years, then when he passed I was one of the close friends that pinstriped Ed’s coffin, saddest thing I’ve ever done! 1

@joestephan11117 years ago 1) was reported in the magazines of the time, Roth, who had contracted the Mysterion out to car show promoters, said several years of being trucked all over the country had literally pounded the car to major destruction. 2) The Honda was a later daily driver. There are numerous pictures of his personal drivers thru the years, including a '55 Chevy gasser. 3) While everyone shows and talks about his custom creations, no one ever includes the wild-bodied, bubble top mid-60s Top Fuel Dragster he built (driven by several top drivers). 4) He is also the official patent holder as the creator of the VW trike. 5) Another missing credit is after he got into trikes and started building them bigger and wilder he started the very first chopper motorcycle magazine. ... 4

@LANDSEAAIRCANADA9 years ago Cool, funny thing is we met ED at a ford dealership in Vancouver BC when they were holding a craft show ! needless to say we were overjoyed to see the man the legend He was doing t shirt art with air brush for 20 bucks ! this was back in the 80's and he was a nice guy, however he did not seem to be loving the experience... Thank you very much for this great episode. ... 1

@jeanneuzarhudson82079 years ago I find it interesting that Dale can take something like this subject and by the time you have watched you are ready to mount-up a trip. Yes, our Rat Fink models were generally gold or silver. Who in their right mind would let a 10 year old loose with a can of paint? One buddy, did those little models all the way with the fine pen-striping and special deep paint schemes. Yeah, he is my age and he kept his kits, un-built, plastic wrappers  and covered a shelf in his garage with these fine pieces. I remember the bottom of his closet covered with these boxes of un-opened kits when we were youngins. He started building them in his fifties. Who'd a thunk it?!  Brilliant Job, once again. ... 1
