you know lil to nothing about any character even if there the main character, and characters die a lot im only h also it feels like theres scenes drastically missing from the movie there will be times the character is like lets do what we used to do, or this girl and guy arent talking because for some reason that we dont see it just happens
also the killer doesnt even seem to have a motive rn hes just killing people to kill
the editing in the movies is kinda bad as well u seen them in a car talking then next scene its night time, or they half stupid scenes where its very apparent this guy has a house thats broken into but he forgot his phone and heads back in like that logic makes sense
i dont really recommended watching this maybe if your drunk you will enjoy this

@waqarcpm43213 years ago I just want to start by saying i read the book and thoroughly enjoyed it. The author is one of my favourite authors of all time, and this was her first the trailer for this film adaption looked promising. I could already see some of the changes they made, but i am actually a big fan of changes in film adaptions of books, because if the film is exactly the same as the book, what' s the point? I liked that the killer was targeting people' si thought that was really clever, seeing as in the book makani had a big secret (more on that in a second) and that was a big subplot. The masks, however, i couldn' t get around. Even with the joke about how hard it was to make these masks, i find it very hard to believe that a high school student would be that talented at prosthetics. Now, makani' sthe changes they made to that was excellent, because in the book it was a slight let-down (all she did was cut off a girl' s ponytail during the hazing) but even that wasn' t enough to redeem this film.
the first sort of ten-fifteen minutes were good. Promising, even. But it went downhill very quickly. All of a sudden i wasn' t entirely sure what was going on. There seemed to be a lot of gaps, such as ollie and makani' s relationship. That needed a hell of a lot of fleshing out. I was waiting for some sort of flashback, but no, we got nothing except unexplained tension. Towards the end i honestly had no idea what was even going on in the film. It almost felt as if the dialogue wasn' t even making much sense. And then the ending? I' d already realised that the ending was going to be different to the book, which is fine. I realised after the film had ended that they' d sort of attempted to set it up, but those foundations were so weak that when he took the mask off i was like, um, what? And why did he hand her the knife? Why was he blaming her for what he did? What? I honestly was so confused, and not in a good way. I wasn' t supposed to be confused.
the reason the book is calledsomeone inside your house" is because the majority of the murders take place in the person' s own house, and the killer messes with them a little by moving things around while they' re not looking. In the film, only the first death was in their own house, which made the whole title somewhat redundant. And don' t get me started on rodrigo' s death.
as someone who loves films and wants to work in that field, the biggest issue i have when i don' t like a film is when i can see what would make it better. Or at least, what i personally think would have made it better. I get this urge to just reach into the screen and rearrange everything. It' s a worse feeling than just straight-up disliking it. It' s frustrating. And there' s someone inside your house was one of those for me. It felt like a film made off a first-draft. Like it wasn' t finished. Which is ironic, considering this movie was shot almost two years ago.
in summary, it was a let-down

@unpluggedsongs35823 years ago The movie was filled with anti police and racism towards white people. At left the characters are talking about why one of the football players are being interviewed and one of the characters points out that they are looking at the wrong person on the table, pointing out that the police would blame a quote: non white to make a quick case because there was going to be a ballot to dissolve the police. The 2nd murder was based off of the fact that a white girl made an episode of a white supremacy podcast. I personally disagree with white supremacy or any kind of racially supremacy, but having that as the reasoning for the 2nd murder is ridicules. At one of the characters shows his dads nazi memorabilia at a party , where other reviews see this as the show being racist towards jews i see it differently. Collecting memorabilia from past wars, famous times/people is a hobby, and finding the 2nd world war fascinating has nothing to do with hating a religion or race. The idea of this film is good but the performance of the actors, and the way they try to make the film politically correct makes this film god awful .. ...Expand 2
